Blocking IPv6 leakage on GL.iNet router
To protect your VPN connection from traffic leaks via the IPv6 protocol when you are not connected to the VPN, it is necessary to ensure a reliable blocking of IPv6.
This instruction assumes that you have already:
1. You have the mini router GL.iNet in stock and connected
2. The OpenVPN connection has been configured according to the instructions
First, you need to open the router's admin panel and log in with the administrator password.
In the main menu on the left, select the "MORE SETTINGS" section. In the expanded menu, choose the "IPv6" option:
By default, the IPv6 protocol support function is disabled in the router settings. Make sure that IPv6 is also disabled in your settings:
To ensure the correctness of the settings and complete disabling of the IPv6 protocol, try opening the following websites:
https://ipv6.google.com - Should not open in the browser
https://www.test-ipv6.com - Online IPv6 checker
If the IPv6 check indicates that this protocol is not available to you, traffic leakage through the IPv6 protocol is not possible.
Otherwise, you need to check your network settings and resolve the issue (depending on the specific case).
